Being my first year living in Phoenix, Arizona – a new term and weather force that I’ve been welcomed to is a HABOOB! Yes, a haboob I say. According to our friends over at Wikipedia, a haboob is ” is a type of intense duststorm carried on an atmospheric gravity current. Haboobs occur regularly in arid regions throughout the world.” Doesn’t sound so scary right? Wrong! Okay, okay … it’s not too bad, but you don’t really want to be caught up in one of those windy affairs.
